SIXTY-SIXTH CALENDAR DAY THIRTY-NINTH SESSION DAY Senate Chamber Des Moines, Iowa, Wednesday, March 17, 1999 The Senate met in regular session at 9:08 a.m., President Kramer presiding. SPECIAL GUESTS Senator Kibbie introduced the Honorable Batt O'Keefe, County Cork Chairman of the Joint Committee on Health and Children. Chairman O'Keefe is a lecturer at Cork Institute of Technology and Cork Regional Technical Community. Chairman O'Keefe addressed the Senate with remarks about his country's growing economy and the Irish peace agreement. Chairman O'Keefe was accompanied by his wife, Mary. Senator Kibbie introduced 1999 Miss Shamrock Catherine Nelson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. David Nelson, Ruthven, Iowa. Irish Dancers were present in the balcony.
