  1  4 RELATING TO PEACE OFFICER STATUS FOR INVESTIGATORS OF THE
  1  5    DEPARTMENT OF INSPECTIONS AND APPEALS.

  1  7 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:

  1  9    Section 1.  NEW SECTION.  10A.403  INVESTIGATORS – PEACE
  1 10 OFFICER STATUS.
  1 11    Investigators of the division shall have the powers and
  1 12 authority of peace officers when acting within the scope of
  1 13 their responsibilities to conduct investigations as specified
  1 14 in section 10A.402, subsection 7.  An investigator shall not
  1 15 carry a weapon to perform responsibilities as described in
  1 16 this section.
