  1  1    Amend Senate File 449 as follows:
  1  2    #1.  Page 1, by inserting before line 1 the
  1  3 following:
  1  4    "Section 1.  CENTER FOR NEW IOWANS.  There is
  1  5 appropriated from the general fund of the state to the
  1  6 department of workforce development for the fiscal
  1  7 year beginning July 1, 1999, and ending June 30, 2000,
  1  8 the following amount, or so much thereof as is
  1  9 necessary, to be used for the purpose designated:
  1 10    For implementation of the center for new Iowans in
  1 11 the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1999, in accordance
  1 12 with section 84A.10, as enacted by this Act:  
  1 13 .................................................. $    246,000"
  1 14    #2.  Title page, line 3, by inserting after the
  1 15 word "repeal" the following:  "and an appropriation".
  1 16    #3.  By renumbering as necessary.
