1 2 #1. Page 1, by striking lines 17 through 20 and
1 3 inserting the following:
1 4 "2. a. "Veteran" means a resident of this state
1 5 who served in the armed forces of the United States at
1 6 any time during the following dates and who was
1 7 discharged under honorable conditions:
1 8 (1) World War I from April 6, 1917, through
1 9 November 11, 1918.
1 10 (2) Occupation of Germany from November 12, 1918,
1 11 through July 11, 1923.
1 12 (3) American expeditionary forces in Siberia from
1 13 November 12, 1918, through April 30, 1920.
1 14 (4) Second Haitian suppression of insurrections
1 15 from 1919 through 1920.
1 16 (5) Second Nicaragua campaign with marines or navy
1 17 in Nicaragua or on combatant ships from 1926 through
1 18 1933.
1 19 (6) Yangtze service with navy and marines in
1 20 Shanghai or in the Yangtze valley from 1926 through
1 21 1927 and 1930 through 1932.
1 22 (7) China service with navy and marines from 1937
1 23 through 1939.
1 24 (8) World War II from December 7, 1941, through
1 25 December 31, 1946.
1 26 (9) Korean conflict from June 25, 1950, through
1 27 January 31, 1955.
1 28 (10) Vietnam conflict from February 28, 1961,
1 29 through May 7, 1975.
1 30 (11) Lebanon or Grenada service from August 24,
1 31 l982, through July 31, 1984.
1 32 (12) Panama service from December 20, 1989,
1 33 through January 31, 1990.
1 34 (13) Persian Gulf conflict from August 2, 1990,
1 35 through the date the president or the Congress of the
1 36 United States declares a cessation of hostilities.
1 37 However, if the United States Congress enacts a date
1 38 different from August 2, 1990, as the beginning Of the
1 39 Persian Gulf conflict for purposes of determining
1 40 whether a veteran is entitled to receive military
1 41 benefits as a veteran of the Persian Gulf conflict,
1 42 that date shall be substituted for August 2, 1990.
1 43 b. "Veteran" includes the following persons:"
1 44 #2. Page 1, line 21, by striking the letter "a."
1 45 and inserting the following: "(1)".
1 46 #3. Page 1, line 30, by striking the letter "b."
1 47 and inserting the following: "(2)".
1 48 #4. Page 2, line 3, by striking the letter "c."
1 49 and inserting the following: "(3)".
1 50 #5. Page 2, line 7, by striking the letter "d."
