1 1 Section 1. Section 2.12, Code 1999, is amended by adding
1 2 the following new unnumbered paragraph:
1 3 NEW UNNUMBERED PARAGRAPH. There is appropriated out of any
1 4 funds in the state treasury not otherwise appropriated, such
1 5 sums as are necessary to provide for televising the
1 6 proceedings of the general assembly during the time that the
1 7 general assembly is in session, including any extraordinary
1 8 session. The legislative council shall enter into any
1 9 necessary agreement to implement this paragraph. Such
1 10 agreement may be with a person engaged in providing either
1 11 public or private telecasts. The director of revenue and
1 12 finance shall issue warrants for such items of expense upon
1 13 requisition of the chairperson and vice chairperson of the
1 14 legislative council after the affirmative vote of a majority
1 15 of the members of the council to implement this paragraph.
1 16 EXPLANATION
1 17 This bill appropriates funds from any unexpended balance in
1 18 the state treasury for the purpose of televising the
1 19 proceedings of the general assembly during the time that the
1 20 general assembly is in session. The legislative council is
1 21 directed to enter into any necessary agreement to provide for
1 22 such telecast.
