1 1 That the Secretary of State is directed to place on the
1 2 ballot of the special election to be held in 1999, for
1 3 submission to the people of amendments to the Constitution,
1 4 three possible state slogans submitted by the Governor,
1 5 requesting the voters to choose one. The results of this
1 6 election shall be nonbinding on the General Assembly.
1 7 This Joint Resolution, being deemed of immediate
1 8 importance, takes effect upon enactment.
1 9 EXPLANATION
1 10 This joint resolution directs the Secretary of State to
1 11 place on the ballot of the special election to be held in
1 12 1999, for submission to the people of amendments to the
1 13 Constitution, a choice of three possible state slogans, asking
1 14 each voter to choose one as the next state slogan. The
1 15 results of the election are nonbinding.
1 16 The joint resolution is effective upon enactment, which in
1 17 the case of this joint resolution is the date of approval by
1 18 the governor.
