The House met pursuant to adjournment at 10:00 a.m., Speaker
Siegrist in the chair.

Prayer was offered by Reverend Daniel Parsch, pastor of Gloria
Dei Lutheran, Urbandale.

The Journal of Friday, January 12, 2001 was approved.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by the Speaker's page, Kyle
McCullough.

On motion by Rants of Woodbury, the House was recessed at 10:06
a.m., until 1:00 p.m.

The House reconvened at 1:03 p.m., Speaker Siegrist in the chair.

INTRODUCTION OF BILLS

House File 57, by Grundberg, a bill for an act relating to the
medical assistance program by providing for presumptive eligibility
and twelve-month continuous eligibility for children.

House File 58, by Grundberg, a bill for an act relating to the
designation of hospitals that provide care to indigent patients.

House File 59, by Rayhons, a bill for an act prohibiting the
scheduling of extracurricular activities after a certain hour on
Wednesday evenings and providing an applicability date.

House File 60, by Alons, a bill for an act relating to termination of
pregnancy reporting.

House File 61, by Reynolds, a bill for an act relating to the
issuance of United States armed forces combat motor vehicle
registration plates and establishing a fee.

House File 62, by Reynolds, a bill for an act making a standing
appropriation to the school budget review committee to provide school
transportation assistance aid to certain school districts.

ADOPTION OF HOUSE RESOLUTION 4

Roberts of Carroll called up for consideration House Resolution 4, a
resolution congratulating Mr. Thomas H. Paulsen for being named
the Iowa Teacher of the Year for 2000, and moved its adoption.

The motion prevailed and the resolution was adopted.
