The House met pursuant to adjournment at 10:12 a.m., Speaker
Siegrist in the chair.
Prayer was offered by the Honorable Ralph Klemme, state
representative from Plymouth County.
The Journal of Friday, January 21, 2000 was approved.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by the Honorable Ralph Klemme,
state representative from Plymouth County.
INTRODUCTION OF BILLS
House File 2071, by Kreiman, a bill for an act relating to the
payment of court-appointed counsel in guardianship and conservator
proceedings.
Read first time and referred to committee on judiciary.
House File 2072, by T. Taylor, a bill for an act relating to
railroads by providing for a minimum number of persons on a train
crew, requiring trauma counseling and leave for railroad employees
involved in certain railroad accidents, providing for close clearance
warning devices and hours of service for drivers, and providing
penalties.
Read first time and referred to committee on transportation.
ADOPTION OF SUPPLEMENTAL REPORT
OF THE COMMITTEE ON MILEAGE
Eddie of Buena Vista called up for consideration the supplemental
report of the committee on mileage, found on page 78 of the House
Journal and moved its adoption.
The motion prevailed and the report was adopted.
HOUSE FILE 2033 WITHDRAWN
Johnson of Osceola asked and received unanimous consent to
withdraw House File 2033 from further consideration by the House.
On motion by Rants of Woodbury, the House was recessed at 10:20
a.m., until 1:00 p.m.

The House reconvened at 1:10 p.m., Speaker pro tempore Sukup in
