WILL C. WHITING Senator from the Thirty-fourth District, composed of Crawford, Harrison and Monona counties. Born in Monona county. His father was a native of the State of New York and his mother of the State of Alabama. His father, the late Charles E. Whiting, was the Democratic candidate for Governor of Iowa in 1885. Mr. Whiting has always been a farmer, but since 1880 he has been prominently connected with the mercantile, lumber and banking business of Whiting, Iowa. He served in the Lower House during the Twenty-ninth, Thirtieth and Thirty-first General Assemblies. Was one of the commissioners of the Louisiana Exposition and had charge of the agricultural department for the State of Iowa. Elected Senator in 1906.
