Ankeny 31st Senatorial District Republican Born in Davenport, April 26, 1942, son of Ray and Eula Baugher. Attended Newton and Ankeny Grade School. Graduated from Ankeny High School, 1960. B. A. and B.S. (Ed.), Northeast Missouri State University, 1967. M.A., Drake University, 1968. Teacher and coach, 1968-72. Owner/manager, Mel-Ray Mobile Home Park since 1972. Married Toni L. Pendergast of Kirksville, Mo., 1964. Daughter, Tirzah and sons: Aaron, Andrew. Served in U.S. Army for three years. Member, First Federated Church in Des Moines. Member, Ankeny Chamber of Commerce and Manufactured Housing Association of Iowa, treasurer, 1974-75 and president, 1976. One session of 68th General Assembly and remainder of present term.
