Attended Mount Vernon Schools and graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1948. Attended Cornell College; B.A., University of Iowa in 1952; J.D., University of Iowa in 1958. Attorney, Kudart & Holmes. Married Patricia Brown of Dysart, Iowa, 1954. Daughter: Kay and Son: Tom. Served as Officer Marine Corps and Marine Corps Reserve 1952-1960. Field Staff of Congressman Fred Schwengel 1957-1958; Vice-President Young Republicans of Linn Co. 1961; Rural Linn Co. Organizational Chairman 1962-63; City Linn Co. Organizational Chairman 1964; Author of book, "New Republican Politics," 1972; Westminster Presbyterian Church, Linn Co. and Iowa Bar Assns.; Iowa and American Trial Lawyers Assn.; American Legion Post #309.
