LLOYD G. JACKSON

Mr. Speaker: Your committee, appointed to prepare a suitable resolution commemorating the life, character, and public service of the late Honorable Lloyd G. Jackson, begs leave to submit the following memorial:

Lloyd Jackson was born September 14, 1926 in Clinton, Iowa. He married Ruth Blake of Clinton July 14, 1948. They had five children, David, Carrie, Jeffrey, James, and Scott.

Mr. Jackson started practicing law in Clinton in 1955. He served Clinton County during the 61st General Assembly, 1965-1966. He then moved to West Des Moines and, was owner of Process Associates. He served in the Army in both World War II and the Korean War.

Mr. Jackson died on September 22, 1998, of complications of a stroke at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. He is survived by his wife, Ruth; four sons, David of Mountain View, California, Jeff of Waukee, James of Bettendorf, and Scott of West Des Moines; a daughter Carrie Jackson of Marcola, Oregon; a brother, Glenn of Clinton; a sister, Lora Pennington of New York City; and seven grandchildren.

Now Therefore, Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the Seventy-eighth General Assembly of Iowa, That in the passing of the Honorable Lloyd G. Jackson, the State has lost an honored citizen and a faithful and useful public servant, and the House by this Resolution would express its appreciation of his service.

Be It Further Resolved, That a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the Journal of the House, and that the Chief Clerk be directed to forward an enrolled copy to the family of the deceased.
