Clinton, Clinton County Democrat. Born in Clinton, Iowa, September 14, 1926, the son of Earl and Viola Jackson. Educated in Clinton public schools, State University of Iowa. B.A. degree in 1950, Juris Doctor degree in 1955. Served in U.S. Army, World War II in Germany 1945-1946; Korea, 1951-1952. Married Ruth Blake of Clinton July 31, 1948; five children: David 14; Carolyn, 11; Jeffrey, 8; James, 7; Scott, infant. Has practiced law in Clinton since 1955. Member of bar associations, First Congregational Church of Clinton, past president of Clinton Chamber of Commerce, past president of Clinton, T.M.C.A. board of directors, member Elks, Izaak Walton. Served on county school board 1956-1958, and as assistant county attorney 1959-1960. Phi Beta Kappa; Junior Chamber outstanding young man award in 1959; Clinton man of year award 1962. Serving first term.
