Cresco Democrat 42nd Senatorial District Howard and Winneshiek Counties. Born May 16, 1912, at Eldorado Springs, Missouri. Graduated from Fayette, Missouri high school in 1931. Attended Central College at Fayette, Missouri, and John Marshall Law School in Cleveland, Ohio. Served in the U. S. Marine Corps from December, 1940, through December 19, 1946. Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Lions Club, Toastmasters International, Mental Health Association, and the Iowa Society of Independent Accountants. Married Lorraine Sullivan October 10, 1942. There are four children: Marilyn, Norma, Stanley and Pearl. Elected to the Iowa Senate November 3, 1958.
