Cresco Democrat 42nd Senatorial District Howard and Winneshiek Counties. Born May 16, 1912, at Eldorado Springs, Mo. Graduated from Fayette, Mo. High School in 1931. Attended Central College at Fayette, Mo., and John Marshall Law School in Cleveland, Ohio. Served in the U. S. Marine Corps from December, 1940, through Dec. 19, 1946. Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Toastmasters International, Mental Health Association, and the Accountants Association of Iowa. Married Lorraine Sullivan Oct. 10, 1942. There are four children: Marilyn, Norma, Stanley and Pearl. Elected to the Iowa Senate Nov. 3, 1958.
