Married Louise Fichter, December 25, 1917. They have three sons, Major Wm., Jr., of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Paul H. of Tabor, Iowa, and Kay who is a junior in high school in Randolph. Served as a lieutenant in field artillery in World War I. Has been engaged in farming since 1919. Member of American Legion. Member of the Methodist church, a thirty-second degree Mason and past grand sentinel of the Order of Eastern Star of Iowa. Serving second term.
