Attended Ida Grove high school and Iowa State College of Engineering. Married Helen M. Custer, 1928, and has one son, Donald. After two years in chief engineers office, N.W. Bell Telephone Co., moved to half section Greene county farm where he now resides. Organization boards of Greene County Cattle Feeders and REA. Ex-president, Jefferson Junior Chamber of Commerce. Federal Savings and Loan Assn., Greene County Sunday School Council and local school board. Member of Jefferson Country, Mid-Winter and Rotary Clubs, Masonic Lodge, Baptist Church, Conservation League and Iowa Civil Air Patrol Staff, Chairman, National Farm Youth Committee, 1935-1936, Junior Chamber of Commerce. Received Community Service Award 1934, and Master Corn Growers' Award 1938. "Who's Who of America's Young Men," 1934-1935. Serving third term in the senate.
