Davenport Republican 15th Senatorial District Scott County. Born Jan. 15, 1904, in Elkhart, Ill., son of John Edward and Laura Montgomery Nicholson. Graduated from High School 1922, president of class. Attended Lincoln Junior College, 1922-24; Illinois State Normal Summer School, 1924; James Millikin University, 1927-29. Retired vice-president and sales manager of a paper box company. His wife, Helen Kay, and he were married in Decatur, Ill., Feb. 14, 1931. Parents of James Edward Nicholson and Susan Nicholson Buchheit. Member of the Episcopal-Protestant Church, Rock Island Arsenal Country Club, Davenport Outing Club, YMCA Athletic Club, Iowa and Illinois Farm Bureau. Davenport YMCA (Pres. 3 yrs.), Kaaba Temple, Davenport Chamber of Commerce. President Quad City Navy League Council, Principal Consolidated School Hartsburg and Beason, 111., 1924-27. At present partner in farming and cattle feeding business. Serving second term in Senate.
