Married Doris Brown, Sept. 19, 1929, in Algona. Children are: Jane (Mrs. Jack McMullen), Edgar W., Mary (Mrs. David Yeoman), Margaret (Mrs. Terry Heald). Farmer and businessman. Member Baptist Church, Rotary, Master Farmers, Farm Bureau, Historical Society, Masons, Consistory, Shrine. Kossuth County Civil Defense Director 1967-68. Board of directors Iowa Farm Bureau 1953-66, vice-president the last 8 years. Member Livestock Committee of American Farm Bureau 6 years. President local school board for 9 years. Served on board of directors of milk drying plant. Served in the Senate in the 63rd General Assembly. Member of legislative tax study committee in 1970 interim.
