Senator from the Twenty-sixth District, composed of the county of Linn, was born in the town of Lisbon, Linn county, Iowa, October 24, 1869. His parents were natives of Fayette county, Pennsylvania. His father located in Linn county, Iowa, in 1851. Mr. Stuckslager attended the public schools at Lisbon, graduating from the high school there in 1886. Then entered Cornell college at Mount Vernon, Iowa, going from that institution in 1893 to Chicago University. In 1894 engaged in the banking business at Lisbon, Iowa, entering the Stuckslager & Auracher bank, founded by his father in 1874. At present is president of the above mentioned bank and also of the Mount Vernon bank, located in the adjoining town of Mount Vernon. Is interested in educational matters and has been a member of the board of trustees of Cornell college for the past eighteen years, twelve years of which time he has been a member of the executive committee. Elected representative in 1899 and served during the Twenty-eighth and Twenty-ninth General Assemblies. In 1903 he was elected to the Senate and served during the Thirtieth, Thirty-first, Thirty-second and Thirty-second extra General Assemblies. Re-elected in 1908. A Republican in politics.
