After some twenty-seven years in this business he sold his brickyard in 1904 and retired from active business. Was married to Miss Minnie Vormerk November 28, 1876. Has held the office of alderman-at-large for four consecutive terms (eight years). Elected Representative in 1903 and re-elected in 1906. Served during the Thirtieth, Thirty-first and Thirty-second General Assemblies.
