Self-employed, owner and operator of supermarkets in Charles City, Iowa, and Austin, Minn., from 1944 to 1969. Has owned and operated farms since 1941 and is presently in a farming operation. Member First Congregational Church, Charles City Chamber of Commerce, Floyd County Farm Bureau, Elks Lodge, Charles City Lodge No. 141, A.F. & A.M., Cedar Rapids Consistory and El Kahir Shrine. Director Iowa Retail Grocers Assn., First Security Bank in Charles City, and Sterling State Bank, Austin, Minn. Served two terms as president of Charles City Industrial Development Corporation.
