Received his early education in the rural schools, after which he attended high school, and is a graduate of a business college. Was married to Miss Elizabeth Brown, January 1, 1902, and to this union three children have been born, Donald, Gaile and Margery. He has held the office of township clerk, trustee, secretary of school board and school treasurer. Is director and vice president of the Farmers' Savings bank of Atlantic, also president of Atlantic Building & Supply company. Was elected senator in 1918 and reelected in 1922. A republican in politics.
