He was educated in the public schools of Louisa county, and has resided near there continuously except for a period of three years in which he served on the Mexican border and overseas as a lieutenant in the First Division, U.S. Army, during World War I. Since the war, he has been engaged in the automobile business and farming. Married December 19, 1924, to Ruth D. Stone; father of two sons, Gordon and David. He has served as Mayor, is a member of the Baptist Church, American Legion and D.A.Vs. Served in the House during the 47th, 48th, 49th, 49th extra, and in the Senate during the 50th, 50th extra, and 51st sessions of the Legislature.
