Father of five daughters: Mary Glee, home economist at Sibley, Iowa; Mrs. Bernis Maye Thompson, who attended Kahler school of nursing in Rochester, Minnesota; Carole Jeane, a freshman at Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls; LaVonne Raye, in junior high; and Laura Lee, in the 4th grade. Presbyterian, Eastern Star, Masons, Consistory and Abu Bekr Shrine. Land owner and operator. Served in House of Representatives in the 51st, 52nd and 52nd Extra General Assemblies. Elected to the Senate in 1948 and served there in the 53rd, 54th, 55th, 56th and 57th General Assemblies.
