         Senator Murphy offered amendment S-5785 filed by Senators Murphy,
    et al., from the floor to amendment S-5700 and moved its adoption.

         Amendment S-5785 was adopted by a voice vote.

         With the adoption of amendment S-5785 to amendment S-5700, the
    Chair ruled amendment S-5784 filed by Senator Borlaug from the floor to
    amendment S-5700, out of order.

         Senator Lind offered amendment S-5787 filed by him from the floor
    to amendment S-5700 and moved its adoption.

         Amendment S-5787 was adopted by a voice vote.

         Senator Lind offered amendment S-5779 filed by Senators Lind and
    Murphy from the floor to amendment S-5700 and moved its adoption.

         Amendment S-5779 was adopted by a voice vote.

         Senator Priebe filed the following motion to reconsider from the
    floor:

         MR. PRESIDENT: I move to reconsider the vote by which amendment
    S-5761 to amendment S-5700 to House File 2421 failed to be adopted by
    the Senate on April 15, 1996.



                                LEAVE OF ABSENCE

         Leave of absence was granted as follows:

         Senator Borlaug for the remainder of the evening on request of
    Senator Iverson.



                                BUSINESS PENDING

    House File 2421

         The Senate resumed consideration of House File 2421.

         Senator Priebe moved the adoption of amendment S-5761 to amendment
    S-5700.

         A record roll call was requested.
