    amendment and passage, was taken up for consideration.

         Senator Palmer offered amendment S-5710 filed by the committee on
    Ways and Means on April 10, 1996, to page 1 and the title page of the
    bill.

         Senator Connolly offered amendment S-5717 filed by Senators
    Connolly and Priebe on April 10, 1996, to amendment S-5710 and moved its
    adoption.

         A record roll call was requested.

         On the question Shall amendment S-5717 to amendment S-5710 be
    adopted? (S.F. 2423) the vote was:

         Rule 23, requiring all Senators present to vote except those who
    express a conflict of interest, was invoked.
