4BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:
1 Section 1. MEDICAL ASSISTANCE HOME AND COMMUNITY-BASED
2SERVICES WAIVERS — WAITING LIST REDUCTION —
3APPROPRIATION. There is appropriated from the general
4fund of the state to the department of human services for the
5fiscal year beginning July 1, 2017, and ending June 30, 2018,
6in addition to any moneys appropriated from the general fund of
7the state to the department of human services for the medical
8assistance program for the same fiscal year, the following
9amount, or so much thereof as is necessary, for the purpose
10designated:
11For implementation of reductions in the waiting lists
12for all medical assistance home and community-based services
13waivers:
.................................................. $147,100,000
15EXPLANATION
16The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with
17the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly.
18This bill provides an appropriation from the general fund of
19the state to the department of human services (DHS) for fiscal
20year 2017-2018, in addition to any other moneys appropriated
21from the general fund of the state to DHS for the medical
22assistance program for the same fiscal year, for the purpose
23of implementation of reductions in the waiting lists for all
24medical assistance home and community-based services waivers.
