Amend Senate File 579 as follows:
1. Page 3, after line 14 by inserting:
<Sec. ___. NEW SECTION. 146E.3 Limitations of chapter —
multiple pregnancy.
In addition to the exception for an abortion necessary to
preserve the life of an unborn child when the postfertilization
age of an unborn child is twenty or more weeks as provided
under section 146E.2, subsection 2, paragraph “b”, this chapter
shall not be construed to prevent an abortion involving a
multiple pregnancy at any time during the multiple pregnancy
if the abortion is necessary to preserve the health or life of
an unborn child.>
