4BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:
1 Section 1. Section 331.361, subsection 7, Code 2023, is
2amended by striking the subsection.
3EXPLANATION
4The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with
5the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly.
6This bill relates to considerations required before a
7county board of supervisors leases, purchases, or constructs
8a facility or building. Under current law, a county board of
9supervisors shall not lease, purchase, or construct a facility
10or building before considering the leasing of a vacant facility
11or building that is located in the county and owned by a public
12school corporation. The bill strikes this prohibition and the
13associated provisions.
