4BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:
1 Section 1. Section 15E.370, subsection 4, paragraph e, Code
22023, is amended to read as follows:
3e. The business must employ less than fifty seventy-five
4full-time, nonseasonal individuals.
5 Sec. 2. APPLICABILITY. This Act applies to businesses that
6apply on or after July 1, 2023, to the butchery innovation and
7revitalization program established in section 15E.370.
8EXPLANATION
9The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with
10the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly.
11This bill requires a business to employ less than 75
12full-time, nonseasonal individuals to be eligible to apply for
13the butchery innovation and revitalization program (program)
14established in Code section 15E.370. Under current law, a
15business must employ less than 50 individuals to be eligible
16to apply for the program. The bill applies to businesses that
17apply to the program on or after July 1, 2023.
