2BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:
1 Section 1. Section 483A.7, Code 2023, is amended by adding
2the following new subsection:
3 NEW SUBSECTION. 6. The commission shall establish a rifle
4season for hunting turkey. The method of take for the rifle
5season shall be a caliber .17 hornady magnum rimfire rifle.
6EXPLANATION
7The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with
8the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly.
9This bill requires the natural resource commission to
10establish a rifle season for hunting turkey. The method of
11take for the rifle season shall be a caliber .17 hornady magnum
12rimfire rifle.
