BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:
   Section 1.  Section 80B.11B, Code 2021, is amended by adding
the following new subsection:
   NEW SUBSECTION.  4.  The director of the academy, subject
to the approval of the Iowa state approving agency of the
department of education, shall amend its administrative
rules pursuant to chapter 17A to require that the academy’s
courses of study and training programs meet the requirements
of nondegree programs under the Post-9/11 Veterans Educational
Assistance Act of 2008, 38 U.S.C. §3301 et seq., as amended.
   Sec. 2.  IOWA LAW ENFORCEMENT ACADEMY — APPLICATION TO
IOWA STATE APPROVING AGENCY.
  The director of the Iowa law
enforcement academy shall, within thirty days of the effective
date of this Act, apply to the Iowa state approving agency
of the department of education for approval of the academy’s
courses of study and training programs as nondegree programs
under the Post-9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act of
2008.
   Sec. 3.  EFFECTIVE DATE.  This Act, being deemed of immediate
importance, takes effect upon enactment.
