    Senate File 260 - IntroducedA Bill ForAn Act 1relating to the Medicaid reimbursement process for

    4BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:
    1   Section 1.  Section 282.18, subsection 8, Code 2021, is
    2amended by adding the following new paragraph:
    3   NEW PARAGRAPH.  c.  For children requiring special education,
    4the receiving district shall complete and provide to the
    5district of residence the documentation necessary to seek
    6Medicaid reimbursement for eligible services.
    7EXPLANATION
    8The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with
    9the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly.
       10This bill provides that when a child requiring special
    11education transfers from the child’s school district of
    12residence to a receiving school district, the receiving school
    13district shall complete and provide to the school district
    14of residence the documentation necessary to seek Medicaid
    15reimbursement for eligible services.
