4BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:
1 Section 1. Section 282.18, subsection 10, paragraph b, Code
22021, is amended to read as follows:
3b. A receiving district may send school vehicles into the
4district of residence of the a pupil using the participating in
5 open enrollment option under this section, for the purpose of
6transporting in order to transport the pupil to and from school
7in the receiving district, if the boards of both the sending
8and receiving districts agree to this arrangement.
9EXPLANATION
10The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with
11the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly.
12This bill eliminates a requirement that the receiving and
13sending school districts must mutually agree on an arrangement
14for transportation of a pupil participating in open enrollment
15before the receiving district can send a school vehicle into
16the pupil’s district of residence to transport the pupil to and
17from school in the receiving district.
