4BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:
1   Section 1.  DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES — COUNTY
2CONSERVATION BOARDS.
   31.  There is appropriated from the general fund of the state
4to the department of natural resources for the fiscal year
5beginning July 1, 2020, and ending June 30, 2021, the following
6amount, or so much thereof as is necessary, to be used for the
7purpose designated:
   8To provide grants to participating counties to support
9activities and events celebrating this state’s one hundredth
10anniversary of the state park system:

   122.  The department shall award not more than $10,000 to a
13participating county based on the department’s evaluation of
14an application submitted to the department by the county. A
15proposal shall be prepared in consultation with the county’s
16conservation board. Two or more contiguous counties may
17make a combined proposal. In that case, the department
18shall not award more than $10,000 multiplied by the number
19of participating counties to a county designated by the
20department.
   213.  The department may retain not more than $10,000 to
22administer this section.
23EXPLANATION
24The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with
25the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly.
   26This bill appropriates moneys from the general fund to the
27department of natural resources for FY 2020-2021 to provide
28grants to participating counties to support activities and
29events celebrating this state’s 100th anniversary of the state
30park system.
