4BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:
1 Section 1. SUPPLEMENTAL NUTRITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM —
2CHILD SUPPORT COOPERATION AS A CONDITION OF ELIGIBILITY. The
3department of human services shall require, as a condition of
4eligibility for the supplemental nutrition assistance program,
5that an individual cooperate with the child support recovery
6unit in establishing and enforcing a child support order
7pursuant to 7 C.F.R. §273.11(o) and (p).
8EXPLANATION
9The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with
10the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly.
11This bill requires the department of human services to
12require, as a condition of eligibility for the supplemental
13nutrition assistance program, that an individual cooperate with
14the child support recovery unit in establishing and enforcing a
15child support order pursuant to federal law.
