3BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:
1 Section 1. NEW SECTION. 136D.3A Minors’ use of tanning
2devices prohibited.
3A tanning facility shall not allow a person under sixteen
4years of age to use a tanning device.
5EXPLANATION
6The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with
7the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly.
8This bill relates to tanning facilities and creates new Code
9section 136D.3A prohibiting a tanning facility from allowing a
10person under 16 years of age to use a tanning device.
11A person who violates the bill is subject to a civil
12penalty not to exceed $1,000 and an injunction restraining any
13violation.
