2BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:
1 Section 1. Section 124E.2, subsection 6, Code 2019, is
2amended to read as follows:
36. “Medical cannabidiol” means any pharmaceutical
4grade cannabinoid found in the plant Cannabis sativa L. or
5Cannabis indica or any other preparation thereof that has a
6tetrahydrocannabinol level of no more than three percent no
7more than ninety grams of tetrahydrocannabinol per ninety-day
8supply and that is delivered in a form recommended by the
9medical cannabidiol board, approved by the board of medicine,
10and adopted by the department pursuant to rule.
11EXPLANATION
12The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with
13the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly.
14This bill amends the definition of “medical cannabidiol” by
15eliminating the 3 percent tetrahydrocannabinol level cap and
16providing that a 90-day supply of medical cannabidiol shall
17contain no more than 90 grams of tetrahydrocannabinol.
