3BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA:
1 Section 1. NEW SECTION. 724.32 Firearms in county
2courthouses.
3Any person possessing a valid professional or
4nonprofessional permit to carry weapons issued in this state
5shall be allowed to go armed with, carry, or transport a
6firearm, whether concealed or not, in or on the grounds of a
7county courthouse in the same manner as personnel providing
8law enforcement services to the district court under section
9602.1303, subsection 3, if going armed with, carrying, or
10transporting such a firearm is otherwise lawful under the laws
11of this state.
12EXPLANATION
13The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with
14the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly.
15This bill relates to going armed with, carrying, or
16transporting a firearm in a county courthouse.
17Under the bill, any person possessing a valid professional
18or nonprofessional permit to carry weapons issued in this
19state shall be allowed to go armed with, carry, or transport
20a firearm, whether concealed or not, in or on the grounds of a
