Attended the University of Iowa and electrical school in the U.S. Navy. Served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean. War. Former member of the Robins City Council. Chair of the Linn County Veterans Commission. Member of the VFW, D.A.V., American Legion, Eagles, and Masonic Orders. Wife Janice; one son, one daughter, and one granddaughter. Serving third term in House.
