Community volunteer. Born and raised in Nagpur, India. Resides in Marion. Graduated from J.N. Tata Parsi High School in Nagpur. Received B.S. in chemistry and biology from Nagpur University. Earned a post-graduate degree in dietetics from Bombay University. Serves on Linn-Mar Community School Board and Iowa Association of School Boards Board of Directors. Served as 2000 president of Vision Iowa Board and 2001 president of Liar's Holographic Theatre. Active in Linn-Mar Booster Club, Boy Scouts American Hawkeye Area Council and Junior League of Cedar Rapids. Husband Arvind; two sons. Serving first term in House.
