Born February 5, 1818, in Brockville, Ontario, Canada. Mr. Stevens was a farmer by trade. He married Miss Sarah Ann Kirby April 1, 1853, in Adair county, Missouri. He was an election judge in 1849. Mr. Stevens was elected to represent Appanoose county in the Eighth General Assembly, 1860.
