Born October 3, 1805, in Caroline County, Virginia, the son of Presley Doggett and Mary Samuel. He married Hannah Samples on 1826. In 1829 they lived near Louisville, Kentucky. They moved to Indiana in 1840. In 1848 they moved again to Wapello County, Blakesburg, Iowa. He served as a representative in the Eighth Iowa General Assembly. By 1866 he was living in Boulder County, Colorado, and served in the House of Representatives of the Colorado Territorial Legislature. Mr. Doggett died January 25, 1888, in Jewell County, Kansas.
