William Wallace Cottle
Jefferson County
Born February 6, 1817, in Belmont County, Ohio, and came to Jefferson County in 1846, settling near Glasgow. In 1847 he received his professional diploma from Missouri University in medicine. He continued the practice of medicine until 1808. Five years of this time he spent in Centerville. He was afterwards engaged in merchandise in Glasgow and also was in the lumber business in Brookfield, Mo. He served in the state legislature in 1859-60, and the extra session in 1861. In February 1851, he was married to Elizabeth E. Endersley. Dr. Cottle was highly esteemed as friend and citizen.
