Born of October 29, 1816, in Mercer County, Kentucky, to Sterling Lambert and Elizabeth Martin. He later married Narcissus Murrow on October 20, 1836, in Parke, Indiana, where he resided until 1845 before moving on and settling in Adel, Dallas County, Iowa, where he was a banker. Mr. Lambert served in the Seventh, Eighth, and Twelfth Iowa General Assemblies representing Dallas County.
