State treasurer of Iowa Catholic Workmen, 1984-96, Hancock County Farm Bureau president, Iowa Farm Bureau Board, 1986-96, and Hancock County Soil & Water Conservation Commissioner, 1986-96. Worked on campaigns for Governor Terry Branstad and U.S. Rep. Tom Latham. Wife Marvalyn; four children, 8 grandchildren. Serving third term in House.
