Korean War veteran, 1952-54; Twin Cedars School Board member, 16 years; Mahaska Hospital board of trustees, 10 years; 4-H leader, five years; Mahaska County 4-H Youth Committee, four years. Honorary 4-H Member Award, 1978. Member: Commission on the Aging, South Central Iowa Mental Health Board, Cattleman's Association, Farm Bureau, American Legion, Oskaloosa Chamber of Commerce and Tracy Christian Reformed Church. Fourth term.
