Born in Birmingham, Ala., on Jan. 31, 1942, son of Lucille and the late Frank B. Deluhery. Attended Davenport schools. Graduated from Assumption High School, Davenport, 1960. B.A. (with honors), University of Notre Dame, 1964. B.Sc. (Econ.) (with honors), The London School of Economics, 1967. College teacher since 1975 in the Department of Economics and Business Administration, St. Ambrose College, Davenport. Elected faculty chairperson, 1977-78. Legislative assistant to U.S. Sens. Harold Hughes and John Culver, 1969-75. Married Margaret Morris, Washington, D.C., 1973. Daughters: Allison, Norah and Rose. Catholic. Elected assistant minority leader for the 69th General Assembly. Elected to the Iowa Senate on Nov. 7, 1978.
