Born May 6, 1943, in Davenport, son of Daniel I. and Jeannette M. Heaney Cusack. Graduated from Assumption High School, 1961. Attended Georgetown University. B.A., St. Ambrose College; M.A., University of Iowa. Taught at Briar Cliff College and Marycrest College. Community organizer for Central Neighborhood Corporation of Davenport, and director, League of Women Voters Education Fund Youth project. Member: American Civil Liberties Union, American Historical Association, American Association for the Advancement of Slavic Studies, and American Academy of Political Science. Served three years as Davenport city councilman. Appointed to Commission on Aging, Energy Policy Council, and Task Force on Housing and Health Care for Dependent Adults. Chairman of House Budget Committee, 67th General Assembly. Fifth term.
